Rookie of the Year Announce New Album, Premiere New Single “Save Me”

Wednesday, July 31st 2013 FAYETTEVILLE, NC: Pop-rock outfit ROOKIE OF THE YEAR have announced their new album The Goodnight Moon: Part II – their first full-band effort since 2008’s Sweet Attention – and have also premiered the third single from the album entitled “Save Me.” It’s been quite some time since ROTY has made a full-band record, having ridden the wave of Ryan Dunson’s solo work from 2009-2012. The Goodnight Moon: Part II dramatically showcases the seven years since Part I, which was released in 2006 on One Eleven Records. Ryan Dunson – the band’s founder, chief songwriter, and sole stationary member throughout its existence – made the call in late 2012 to start work on a collaborative album that would act as the sequel to the band’s debut full-length. The Goodnight Moon: Part II depicts a more intricate and defined form of ROTY, while also revisiting the pop roots that gave the band their initial acclaim in 2006.
After releasing Sweet Attention in 2008 via One Eleven Records, the band drifted apart to pursue separate avenues. Dunson, however, kept writing songs under the same name and eventually released solo albums The Most Beautiful in 2010 via Future Destination Records and Along for the Ride independently in 2011. Since then, Dunson has not only continued writing, but also re-connected with his former bandmates and producer Matt Malpass.
“Working and writing with new producer Steve Sopchak and old friend Matt Malpass (also produced The Goodnight Moonand Sweet Attention) was quite amazing,” says Dunson. “It was great to revisit my roots while at the same time pushing my musical boundaries.”
The Goodnight Moon: Part II will officially drop on August 13th, and will be released independently. The album was produced by Steve Sopchak and Matt Malpass (Lydia, Copeland, Dance Gavin Dance) at The Square Studio in Syracuse, NY and Marigolds and Monsters in Atlanta, GA.
“The new record definitely starts off where The Goonight Moon ended,” continues Ryan Dunson. “There was so much more to talk about when that record was finished, so it was fun to bring back that style and emotion for Part II. Almost like a ‘new and improved’ rendition of Part I.”
Fans can expect national tour dates to be announced in the coming weeks. For more information on Rookie of the Year, follow the band on Facebook and Twitter.

Farewell Fighter Premieres New Song "Bridges"

"Fans of Indie pop need to check out Farewell Fighter. They're a fun, positive band that will keep you coming back for more."
-Alter The Press

Nashville, TN July 18, 2013Farewell Fighter, the Nashville based pop-rockers who have recently announced the release of their new album, Challenges, have just premiered their first single off the new album, "Bridges" with  Challenges will be released via Easy Killer Records on August 6th, 2013. With an undying passion for their trade, vocalist Kenny Fleetwood, drummer Matthew Hooper and bassist David Jahns seem to be the scene's poster-boys for the 'look what I can do' attitude. Check out the Josh Cain produced "Bridges" on, here:

Most individuals would think twice before giving up all their physical belongings, cutting ties and risking homelessness and starvation. In 2011, Farewell Fighter did just that. After topping Alternative Press Magazine's Top Unsigned Bands list in 2010, the band decided to take things to the next level. The band scheduled show after show on self-booked, self-funded tours across America; ultimately spending the next twelve months on the road, playing 150+ shows in more than forty states and selling more than 6,000 copies of their self-released EP titled The Way We Learn.

In 2012, the pop-rockers settled down to write and record a full-length record. While most bands in their genre struggle to create honest and catchy songs, Farewell Fighter do it track by track -- and they've managed to stay humble doing it. Giving up everything you have for the good of a dream has a way of putting the world into perspective for a young artist. "This record is so important to us. Each song tells a different story about how hard it can be growing up in a world where there's so much pressure to 'be something' or to figure out where you belong. Not everyone figures that out right away. Our hope is that these songs can help someone out there feel a little more at ease about who they are and what it means to be happy in spite of life's challenges." With their feet on the ground and their eyes on the prize, the sly foursome isn't showing any signs of slowing down. On-stage antics reminiscent of a band operating on a much bigger budget have earned them appearances with peers such as The Early NovemberWe Are The In Crowd and Hellogoodbye.

In a convoluted music scene full of GarageBand and auto-tune, Farewell Fighter are hell-bent on proving that you don't have to be pretty or have a record executive for an uncle just to be successful. They're doing it through their music -- and they're doing it well.

Farewell Fighter will release Challenges via Easy Killer Records on August 6th. For more information, please visit:

Culprit Premiere New Single, Announce New EP via Easy Killer Records

Tuesday, July 16th 2013 LOS ANGELES: Southern California rock quartet CULPRIT have premiered a new single entitled “Totem,” the title track from their forthcoming EP to be released on August 20th via Easy Killer Records & Apparel. The new EP, produced by Dryw Owens (From Indian Lakes, Consider the Thief) and Erik Ron (I the Mighty, Panic! at the Disco, VersaEmerge), will be Culprit’s follow-up effort to 2011’s independently released Analogue. Having added Pennsylvania-born guitarist Brian Fulda in late 2011, this will be the first completed album with the new lineup. The past two years have brought tours with acts like Happy Body Slow Brain, Dance Gavin Dance, I the Mighty, A Lot Like Birds, and The Orphan, The Poet, along with a defined writing trademark closely compared to the likes of Thrice and Envy on the Coast.
Vocalist Travis Powell touches on the capacity of Totem saying, “In the movie Inception, the characters use objects referred to as ‘totems’ to keep them grounded within their dreams. Music is my totem, it’s what keeps me from losing sight on what is important.” Guitarist Brian Fulda adds, “We are able to understand each other a lot better as people because of this writing process, and the time it took to reach that point was essential, even if it took us a little over two years to complete. I think recording with Dryw Owens only furthered this level of comfort and understanding.”
In addition to having a new EP slated for August, this will also be Culprit’s first official label release, as they inked a deal with St. Louis-based Easy Killer Records & Apparel in March. The band joined a diverse roster with artists like Night Verses, The Company We Keep, Farewell Fighter, Mandolyn Mae, and several others.
“It only took one listen to get me hooked on the Analogue EP, so I had quite the expectations for them,” states Easy Killer Records president Mike Judy regarding Culprit. “The dudes completely surpassed those, and Dryw [Owens] played a big part in helping them do so.”
Pre-orders for the new EP Totem will be announced next week, and fans can expect a new music video premiere before August. A record release show will also be announced in the coming weeks.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Partners with Funny Or Die to Premiere the Official Video for "If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)"

AMTRAC Remix of "Dancefloor"

Joining "Ones To Watch" Tour This Fall with Atlas Genius and Family Of The Year

Detroit's affable duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. have partnered with Funny Or Die for a rare FOD music video premiere for "If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor)," which launched this morning. The clip follows two cops, actors John Ennis (Mr. Show, Tenacious D) and Jay Johnston (Anchorman, Men in Black II, Arrested Development), as they attempt to hunt down Josh and Daniel of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and put a stop to their party time shenanigans at "The Dancefloor." It was directed by pro skateboarder turned video director Laban Pheidias of Occupy Films, who has previously worked with Justin Timberlake, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys.
"Making this video was an epic day in sunny Los Angeles" explains the band. "We wore more make up than we had cumulatively worn in our entire lives prior to filming this, and got to hang out with some of the most talented comedians we've ever had the pleasure of meeting.  It was a really wonderful day, even when you factor in the food poisoning that Josh and the Director got form the craft services table. While the original intention of the video was not necessarily centered around humor, the energy of the actors we ended up being able to work with brought it to a great new place."

Buzzing DJ/producer/vocalist AMTRAC is the latest to remix "If You Didn't See Me (Then You Weren't On The Dancefloor), check out his vibed out treatment of the track, perfect for summer mixtapes.
