"At SXSW you definitely get a huge variety of music to fulfill anyone's music tastes, but if you were able to catch a showcase with David & Olivia, I'm sure it was definitely a breath of fresh air for your crazy week in Austin." - Static Magazine
The Americana duo, David & Olivia, will be releasing their debut EP, On The Sea, on May 14th, 2013. You can check out an exclusive stream of their first track released, "Key to My Heart", on Relix.com, here: http://bit.ly/155VLXX! He needed her, she needed him; and the song needed them both. Drawing from the likes of The Civil Wars, The Lone Bellow, Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, and more, this album will bring honesty and soul to your ears. The duo will be playing The Constellation Room on May 23rd. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.DavidandOlivia.com.
David Rosales met Olivia May at a Hollywood speakeasy of yesteryear where she was on-stage singing Janis. He found what he was looking for in her and she took notice of him. Their next meeting was in a studio where they recorded the first single off On The Sea, "Key to My Heart," a uniquely honest love song with a distinct and deep southwest tone.
The session went well and they soon received encouragement when the song became a finalist in Gretsch Guitar's Songwriting Competition. David & Olivia decided to further hone their Americana sound by hitting the road; performing at wineries and wine bars along the West Coast. Soon, the duo started writing at a feverish pace, holed-up over the winter at Anaheim, CA's Night Owl Recorders. They recently completed recording their debut record with Matt Grundy and Paul Clark (Donavon Frankenreiter "Start Livin'").
On The Sea is a 6-song EP that provides a very clear picture of the special musical relationship between David & Olivia -- melancholy sweetness; deep enough to hit, light enough to digest. David tells us, "These songs are a result of traveling down dusty vineyard roads along the winding shoulder of the Pacific Ocean. There is a comfortable ease to them. We completely gave ourselves to these songs. We enjoyed the natural process of recording and are proud of the album we created. Now, it's time to set sail."
Just off of South by Southwest 2013, David & Olivia will release On The Sea on May 14th, 2013.

THE GREENERY PREMIERE NEW SONG FROM UPCOMING ALBUM, ‘IT’S LOOKING GRIM’
April 26, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Long Beach thrash-punks The Greenery are gearing up for the impending release of a new album called It’s Looking Grim, and have debuted the first new song from the record, “Reapers Keeper,” today! Fans can check out the track now at http://youtu.be/Lf90ontEnEs. Also released today is the NSFW artwork for It’s Looking Grim, which can be viewed at your discretion at http://thegreenerylbc.com/.
“After enduring countless miles driven in three vans, dealing with busted trailers and blown transmissions, and surviving off of cup o' noodles to cure our severe hangovers, we've officially finished our sophomore album at Buzzbomb Sound Lab with our scotch-loving producer Paul Miner,” states vocalist Matt Lanners. “It's been quite the journey coming back from being so implausibly broke (due to the road being a cruel mistress), however there's never been a moment of giving in to the hard times. We are indebted to our loyal fans/friends for the self-released and funded album that we are about to release; it is our thanks to you being there with us in every sweaty and grimy venue…head-banging.”
Although The Greenery released their debut album, Spit & Argue, with Prosthetic Records, the band will be taking a completely different approach for their follow-up, It’s Looking Grim, by self-releasing it and by-passing labels all together; delivering the music straight to the fans.
“Why no label?,” Lanners asks rhetorically. “Well, honestly, we left our previous label on amazing terms and are still great friends with them, however we felt this project was our baby and we wanted to do this record on our terms. So, we got jobs and funded our own album, like grown ass men-children. Be prepared for the most angry, vulgar and pissed-off release The Greenery has delivered to date, cause we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We’re proud to have endured our personal and collective up’s and down’s to deliver the most honest album we could.”
With a fresh start, The Greenery is ready to unleash hell with It’s Looking Grim, an appropriate title for an album filled with such destructive force. The unyielding collection of some of the gnarliest metal infused scuzz-punk around today features the new song “Reapers Keeper,” which was virtually made to break necks in the pit.
"We wanted to make a record that is very straight forward and to the point,” says Lanners. “No hidden meanings, no bullshit. I wanted to write about death as a character, and not as just an occurrence in life. This record really pushes Death in that sense of existence."
The Greenery recently wrapped up performances at The Jamboree and New England Metal Fest and are currently on the road with To The Wind.
Keep up with The Greenery at https://www.facebook.com/

Siren Records Announces I is Another, Featuring Jonah Matranga and Ian Love
New Album Set for Release 6/24, First Single on 5/8
On the heels of post-rock and revered outfits Rival Schools and Far comes a breath of fresh air in the form of I IS ANOTHER – the new brainchild of Jonah Matranga and Ian Love. The two seasoned musicians are anything but strangers to the innovation of sounds, having gotten their hands dirty in a number of successful projects during the past two decades, including both Far and Rival Schools followed by the fan favorites Burn, Gratitude, and New End Original, to name a few. I is Another emerges as an artistic entity both connected to these previous projects yet also a stand-alone effort in that it brings something entirely new to listeners’ ears. The band’s debut eponymous release, available on CD, double 7”, and digital on 6/24, combines distinct gritty shades of Zeppelin, Sabbath, and Cocteau Twins with the vocal intensity of Sunny Day Real Estate and Braid.
“Honestly, we didn’t make this record for any other reason than the love of making records,” explains vocalist Jonah Matranga. “Ian had some tunes that he could hear my voice on, so he sent them over. We really took our time, just tried to make something worth listening to.”
I is Another opens with the single “Queen of Swords”, setting a charismatic wanderlust that carries throughout the album’s entirety. Matranga’s vocal ability is ever-present and soaring, maintaining a confidence and conviction that seeps into your skin upon listening. Tracks like “Shake” and “Prayed For You” bring forth raw guitar tones that are piercing and unmistakable.
Ian Love and Jonah Matranga have certainly been through the ropes together. They originally met during Jonah’s days as onelinedrawing in 2001 during the tracking of their split EP with Rival Schools, at which time Jonah was able to see Ian’s production skills in action. “I immediately liked the way he recorded,” says Matranga. “It was simple and relatively stress-free while still interesting sounding.” The duo went on to collaborate on onelinedrawing’s The Volunteers in 2004, and Matrenga’s solo release And in 2007.
I is Another brings a fresh, balanced new face to rock n’ roll – one that neither Matranga nor Love could have ever anticipated. The collaboration between the two rock vets brings yet another collection of hard-hitting songs that look to stand the test of time. “We’re both total fuckin’ weirdos in very complimentary ways, too,” says Matranga on his relationship with Ian. “He’s kind of the Walter White to my Jesse Pinkman, or the Silent Bob to my Jay, or the C3PO to my R2…or something like that.”
I Is Another will be available 6/24 via CD, Vinyl, and Digital – with exclusive material throughout. The first single "Queen of Swords" will premiere on May 8th.

OXBLOOD on May 12th. This record finds Bobby taking a gentle singer-songwriter approach along the lines of people like Elliott Smith. This is extremely thoughtful and well-crafted material that took only five days to record and mix, which should serve as a huge lesson to all the young bands out there taking 8-12 months in the studio to stop wasting time and money.
It's a beautiful first glance, at what is likely to become a gorgeous new path for Bobby.
Be sure to check out the OXBLOOD Facebook page to keep updated on live appearances.

Announce New Artist
Announced Exclusively on Absolute Punk, here: http://bit.ly/Z6n0hF
St. Louis, MO - April 22, 2013- Easy Killer Records is pleased to announce the signing of Nashville based pop-rock quartet, Farewell Fighter. The band, who will release their full-length album, Challenges, in July, is comprised of vocalist Kenny Fleetwood, drummer Matthew Hooper, guitarist Taylor Easterwood, and bassist David Jahns. The record label, which launched in February, also features artists such as Night Verses, The Company We Keep, Brian Marquis, Ramin Niroomand, Culprit, Tidewater, Mandolyn Mae, City Of Ghosts and more. Founded by Mike Judy and Kevin Gales, Easy Killer Records and Apparel is a new lifestyle brand offering high quality rock music and clothing.
Mike Judy and Kevin Gales bring years of music industry experience together to create a dynamic and powerful team. The past decade has seen Mike Judy rise from humble beginnings as a local Mid-western musician to a national fixture within the music industry. As a concert promoter, he's booked everyone from Fall Out Boy to Snoop Dogg. Moving forward with Easy Killer, Mike Judy cites talent and variance as chief factors in forming the roster. "When first discussing the direction we wanted to go with the label, the last thing we wanted to do was pigeon-hole ourselves by focusing on a relatively specific type of artist in terms of genre. Setting a low bar with reference to artistic integrity was also something we weren't interested in pursuing. As things stand today, we're beyond stoked to be coming out of the gate with such a diverse, skilled group of musicians."
Kevin Gales, a finder of talent for over 20 years, in both Canada and the US has had tremendous success finding artists with little to no experience, and working with them to the point where they have a national presence, charting with both physical and digital sales. Kevin's produced over 100 titles that have been released through a major label distributor and has managed the likes of Tidewater, Means, Emily Howard, Ashley Aucker, Raymond Gregory, Blind Witness, Becoming The Martyr, amongst others, bringing them to their first national chart success. On collaborating with Mike Judy, Gales states, "Our partnership totally is genuine. We really believe that if the two of us come to an agreement on something, we're ready to go to war for whatever that is."
With a uniquely diverse roster, Easy Killer Records is one you will want to keep an eye on.

Promoting the recently released Renacer, Senses Fail really do seem to be reborn. There is something to be said for bands that survive as long as Senses Fail, despite lineup changes, label changes, and the highs and lows of an ever evolving industry. Longevity requires adaptability. The trick is to survive with your self-respect, dignity, and talent intact, a feat that Buddy Nielsen has obviously managed to do. Expounding on his desire with Renacer, to spread a positive message, Buddy encouraged the crowd to go out into the world and 'not be an asshole' which, while it sounds silly in print, was a quite effective entreaty live. It's nice to see someone who already holds the respect of so many young people, use that power to make a positive message.
Call them post-hardcore, call them punk, call them whatever you like, but always remember to call them a damn good live band.

Consisting of Dan "Soupy" Campbell (lead singer), Casey Cavaliere (guitarist), Matt Brasch (guitarist), Nick Steinborn(keyboardist/guitarist), Joshu
a Martin (bassist), and Michael Kennedy (drummer), The Wonder Years are a band that started as something of a joke and grew to become recognized around the country, courtesy of a sloppy debut LP that flicked some sort of switch. Releasing The Upsides in January 2010, a complete departure from The Wonder Years' early work, was just the beginning of an ongoing avalanche of momentum that has led the Philadelphia sextet to the forefront of the pop-punk community.
Engaging musicianship and intimate, instantly relatable lyricism made The Wonder Years a critical darling even before hordes of fans began to take notice. But it didn't take long for everyone to jump on board. Signing to Hopeless Records with their brand of "realist pop-punk" and re-releasing The Upsides with bonus tracks brought about new buzz, and the release of the sprawling, 13-track concept record Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing in June of 2011 confirmed what many thought: The Wonder Years were for real.
Playing shows in basements, backyards and VFW halls the country over in its early years, the band had a DIY mentality long before it broke through to a larger audience. "The idea was that, for a long time, no one wanted to work with The Wonder Years so we said fuck it, we'll do it ourselves," Campbell says. "We didn't need anyone else. We weren't looking for charity. We were just going to cowboy up and fucking do it."
The Wonder Years graced the cover of Alternative Press, played an entire summer on the Vans Warped Tour, and supported New Found Glory on the Pop Punk's Not Dead Tour to close out 2011. They opened 2012 in a huge way, with the Glamour Kills Tour, which Campbell called the band's "first big-boy headliner." Leading Polar Bear Club, Transit, The Story So Far, A Loss for Words, and Into It. Over It. across the country for six weeks of sold-out shows proved that The Wonder Years are still growing, still making new friends, and breaking new boundaries.
Now, with the bands new release, The Greatest Generation, we will get to see what The Wonder Years have in store for us in 2013. The band tells us, "We know that this is unequivocally our strongest, most honest and most heartfelt work to date. We can't wait to show everyone what we have in store for this release."
The Wonder Years will release The Greatest Generation via Hopeless Records on May 14th, 2013. For track listing and tour dates, see below. To Pre-Order The Greatest Generation, with limited edition and exclusive bundles available, please visit: http://smarturl.it/
