New Video from Jeff Hershey & The Heartbeats

Monday, April 2nd 2012

Ventura, CA: Soul music lives - as AMP Magazine has partnered with Jeff Hershey & the Heartbeats to bring us the saucy new video premiere for "Don't Come Around."  The song is the snappy opener off the band's debut album Soul Music Vol. 1, released in 2011 via Siren Records.  After a successful and productive 6-day stint at SXSW, Jeff Hershey doesn't leave us in the wind for long.  "This is one of the most honest records I've heard in a long time," says guitar legend Dick Dale on Soul Music Vol. 1.  Honesty is the best policy, as Hershey brings the knock-down drag-out style to life in his new video, directed by Travis Mauck.  "The inspiration behind the song stemmed from an argument with my boss at a job that I walked out on," explains Hershey.  "A lot of people think it's about a woman, but it's really not."

You may have previously known Jeff Hershey in a different light - as the bassist/vocalist of tenured Vagrant Records punk quartet No Motiv.  Since the band has slowed its pace in recent years, Hershey has immersed his talents exclusively in the realm of soul - one of the purest and most heartfelt genres of music to ever grace the airwaves.  Jeff Hershey will be touring regionally throughout the spring and summer, and will be heading overseas during the fall for a European stretch of dates.
