Susan Enan: "Plainsong"

Music that magically finds its' way into movies and tv has varying degrees of success based on its placement and who is listening. It's one thing if it's a nice piece of music and fits the moment, and another if it is so mindblowingly gorgeous that you are compelled to Google it and go buy it. Bones is one show that over its' many seasons has brought to light a number of stunning tracks from woefully under-recognized artists. One such artist, Susan Enan, contributed the track "Bring On The Wonder" to an episode of Season 2. This track can be found on her equally gorgeous album Plainsong which came out in 2009. The haunting, "Skin, Bone & Silicone" with backup vocals by Declan O'Rourke slides in as second most amazing track of the album, but really it's all so good that it demands purchase as the full record.

These days Susan has been traveling the globe performing a series of house shows and filming her adventures, many of which can be found on Youtube. She reports having travelled 84,000 miles between Feb 2010 and Dec 2011 bringing her music to the people in the most grassroots way possible. With plans to record this year, she plans to limit upcoming house shows, but has announced that she intends to play in the Southeastern US in March and April. You can get info about hosting a show HERE.

If you have not yet picked up this amazing album you can purchase physical copies through her website or click the link below for Mp3.

Excellent for fans of: Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Tori Amos
