UH HUH HER: Official Statement Re: Southwest Airlines Incident

Camila Grey and Leisha Hailey statement
We have always promoted tolerance, openness and equality both as a band and as individuals. We both come from loving homes where our parents not only love and accept us, but are also proud of who we are. We believe everyone has the right to live openly in this society as equals. In no way were our actions on Southwest Airlines excessive, inappropriate or vulgar. We want to make it clear we were not making out or creating any kind of spectacle of ourselves, it was one, modest kiss. We are responsible adult women who walk through the world with dignity. We were simply being affectionate like any normal couple. We were on the airplane less than 5 minutes when all was said and done. We take full responsibility for getting verbally upset with the flight attendant after being told it was a “family airline.” We were never told the reason the flight attendant approached us, we were only scolded that we “needed to be aware that Southwest Airlines was a family oriented airline.” No matter how quietly homophobia is whispered, it doesn’t make it any less loud. You can’t whisper hate. We ask this airline to teach their employees to not discriminate against any couple, ever, regardless of their own beliefs. We want to live in a society where if your loved one leans over to give you an innocent kiss on an airplane it's not labeled as "excessive or not family oriented" by a corporation and it’s employees. We find it very disturbing that the same airline who lauds itself as being LGBT friendly has twisted an upsetting incident that happened into our behavior being "too excessive." The above is not an apology and we are in the process of filing a formal complaint with the airline. We hope that when all is said and done a greater tolerance without prejudice will evolve.

Twin Atlantic Announce US Tour Dates

Free Produced By Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World)
Tour Kicks Off November 2

Glasgow’s TWIN ATLANTIC has announced plans for a U.S. tour supporting AWOLNATION along with Middle Class Rut. The trek begins November 2 in Bakersfield, CA and concludes on November 23 in Philadelphia, PA.

The band is out in support of its critically-lauded debut full-length, FREE, which was recorded at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica, CA with legendary producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies, Jimmy Eat World). Free, the follow up to the well-received debut EP, Vivarium, continues to expand upon the band’s signature sound, melding angular riffs with energetic choruses.  Explosive and hard charging, yet melodic and thoughtful, the tracks cut deep and ring true to the listener, leaving a lasting impression.

In describing the batch of songs that make up FREE, front man Sam McTrusty explains, “We wanted there to be a brutal honesty in the lyrics. There are love songs and relationship songs, there are some with a party vibe, and there are some that are weird, heavy and grungy pop songs.” Guitarist Barry McKenna adds, “Personally the only thing I wanted to achieve from this whole process is an album the four of us could stand by and invest ourselves in. We have done that.”

The video for the title track and current U.S. single “Free” was directed by Howard Greenhalgh (Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”) and can be viewed here:

Fresh off several highly buzzed about festival performances throughout Europe and the UK this summer, Twin Atlantic are excited to get back to the states for their first U.S. tour since the release of Free. Says McTrusty,
“Touring in America is such a great experience; we love the music culture over there and everything that surrounds it. Really looking forward to touring with two bands we love and getting to make new fans and play our new record to the fans we've already made stateside.”

Upcoming Twin Atlantic Tour Dates

Praise for Twin Atlantic’s FREE:

an ambitious and truly spectacular debut… Free is the sound of a band losing the chains...and writing songs that the hairs on the back of their necks adore... Holding nothing back sounds exactly like this, everyone else please take note. 9 out of 10”- Rock Sound

"A record so strong it's hard to single out standout tracks, and even harder to locate points of weakness, and by anyone's standards, this is one hell of an achievement."- Kerrang!

COAL CHAMBER Reunion Announced

For Immediate Release
September 25th, 2011

COAL CHAMBER Announces Plans to Reform for Australian SOUNDWAVE Shows

Dez Fafara, co-founder and vocalist of 90’s alt-metal (or “spooky-core” as coined by devout fans) band COAL CHAMBER and current vocalist for DevilDriver, is announcing an upcoming reformation of the band specifically for SOUNDWAVE shows. COAL CHAMBER is highly-regarded for their countless high-energy performances with several of today’s biggest names and selling millions of albums worldwide.

Dez affirms, “COAL CHAMBER is playing SOUNDWAVE Down Under! These reunion shows are for the fans that want to see us again as well as all the people that never got to see COAL CHAMBER. It is and always will be a very special part of my life, so these few shows are for those people and for us. If you’re not from Australia, better get a ticket now to come see this event!”

“Australia has never seen us, nor have we seen them,” adds guitarist Meegs Rascón. “It will be an extraordinary exchange of energy and adrenaline. Hello Aussies, nice to meet you!”

Formed in 1993 by Dez and Meegs, COAL CHAMBER was busy selling out venues like The Roxy in West Hollywood, bringing out bands like System of a Down and Static X, and launching a new genre of metal in Los Angeles before they were even signed to Roadrunner Records in 1995. After what seemed like endless touring, the band recorded and released their debut self-titled album in February 1997. The album went RIAA Certified Gold in the United States. The band went on to tour several times with Pantera, Black Sabbath, and soon broke out in the UK while on tour with Machine Head and Napalm Death. During the first album cycle, Sharon Osbourne began managing the band.

Following the band’s headline run with Machine Head as direct support and Slipknot as opener (whom the band also helped bring to the masses), COAL CHAMBER released their next album, Chamber Music, in 1999. The album charted at #28 on the Billboard Top 100 chart and yielded a hit track, ‘Shock The Monkey’, featuring Ozzy Osbourne.

In 2002, the band followed-up with their third and final album, Dark Days, which landed at #34 on the Billboard Top 100 chart. COAL CHAMBER released a compilation of several demo tracks and alternate studio recordings in 2003, entitled Giving The Devil His Due, and shortly after broke up due to personal reasons. Vocalist Dez Fafara went on to form his current band, DevilDriver.

“This reunion will mark a decade since we last played together, so staring at my brothers on stage face to face will be an emotional rollercoaster for me,” says Meegs. “Tears of joy would be an understatement to say the least. You know, all of us have gone through our separate journeys in life, but we’re coming back to rekindle this and throw the past in the past and put the future in our hands.”

Drummer Mike Cox adds, “Of all the great achievements COAL CHAMBER made in the past, getting back together after all we’ve been through will be the greatest achievement to date.”

“We've all grown up and put the personal past behind us now and are moving forward with these few shows in a spirit of friendship through music,” states Dez. “You must remember where you came from in order to know where you are going.”

The Return of LYDIA

For Immediate Release

The return of LYDIA

Beloved AZ Indie Rockers
Announce October 4 Release Date For
Paint It Golden
Band’s First New Full-Length Since 2008

Cover Art & Track Listing Revealed

Tour Kicks Off October 6

Beloved Gilbert, AZ indie rockers LYDIA have announced an October 4 release date for their highly-anticipated new release, Paint It Golden.

The band led by front man, Leighton Antelman, has also unveiled the cover art and track listing for the record that marks their first new full-length since 2008’s, illuminate. An EP titled, Assailants was released in 2010, which served as the catalyst for what was supposed to be LYDIA’s farewell tour. After a string of sold out shows that found them playing to rapturous audiences every night, the band members realized it was not yet time to call it quits and officially announced they would be continuing on, ultimately recording Paint It Golden this past summer with producer Matt Malpass (Copeland, All Get Out).

I am overly excited to put out this new record. I have been holding onto a lot of these songs for years now and I didn't even know if I'd ever release them. I am truly blessed to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with so many people around the world,” says Antelman.

A tour in support of Paint It Golden will kick off on October 6th (see dates below).

Lydia will be premiering the music video for the track, “Dragging Your Feet In The Mud” shortly. More details on the premiere will be announced shortly.

About LYDIA:

There are moments in the underground music community, when a band becomes something beyond its creator. It can communicate to an audience, deeper than any one person's verbal explanation or interpretation. It's something personal, and becomes something sacred. Great art is never literal, and usually left open for interpretation. With Lydia, that is exactly what has kept the phenomena alive....Lydia is not a person, but a feeling. They communicate in a dialect that defines the soundscapes they paint. The connection to their audience is a bond that can't be broken or dismissed. When Lydia found themselves at a crossroads in 2010, their fan base is what brought the project back together, and pushed them forward. Swarms of fans with Lydia tattoos, showed up to their sold out farewell tour. Something special had happened, beyond what anyone expected.

Leighton Antelman started Lydia in 2003, and after years of growth, experimentation, and discovery, they were finally ready to release their first record. The band had released This December, It's One More and I'm Free in September of 2005 on local indie, HourZero Records. Lydia spent a few years fine tuning their line up and writing what would be their most critically acclaimed release, illuminate recorded and produced my Matt Malpass (Copeland, All Get Out). The record was originally released by Linc Star Records in 2008. The buzz and online marketing caught the attention of Universal/Motown Records. Six months after the storm that was illuminate, the band signed a deal with the major label. After running through the machine, Lydia found themselves at another crossroads. The band had been in the studio working on their follow up to illuminate, and discovered they were heading in different directions creatively. As the tensions mounted, band members decided to leave due to these creative differences, leaving Lydia with 3 members, Leighton Antelman, Steve Mcgraw, and Craig Taylor. Lydia parted ways with Universal/Motown in late 2009 and wasn't sure what to expect. All they knew was that they had new material, and didn't want to disappoint their fans.

The band decided in 2010 that they would formally disband. They chose to release an EP of new material, titled Assailants, and head out on a farewell tour. With past members unable to tour, Leighton and Craig decided to put together a band to take out on their last run. Leighton decided to pick up the guitar again and pushed forward with the tour that appeared to be entirely sold out. Lydia independently released Assailants on this tour, and discovered that their fan base had grown immensely. The reception they received and the quality of the performances outweighed the gloom of it being their "Farewell". After witnessing a very strong reception from crowds on the other side of the Pacific in Australia, Leighton realized this would be a very difficult thing to leave behind.

Leighton and Craig returned home from Australia, and began working on new songs. After much debate, realization, and late nights they decided to bring Lydia back to life.... They went back into the studio in the summer of 2011 with Matt Malpass, and started to record their follow up to Assailants, titled Paint it Golden.

Sometimes it's difficult to let go of something that is personally sacred- when you have the energy of thousands of people unwilling to let go, you realize that you can't either.

LAMB OF GOD'S Mark Morton Gives Back

For Immediate Release
September 21st, 2011

LAMB OF GOD Guitarist Mark Morton and Victory Junction Kick-Off Signature Jackson Dominion Guitar Auction Today

LAMB OF GOD lead guitarist Mark Morton is auctioning one of his stage guitars played during the band's performance at D-Tox Fest on June 17th in Montebello, Quebec.  The guitar, a Mark Morton Signature model Jackson Dominion from Morton's personal collection, is autographed and will come with photographs from the performance and a personal letter of appreciation and authenticity from Morton.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit Victory Junction, a camp for chronically ill children in Randleman, NC.  More specifically, the funds generated by the auction will allow a child to experience Victory Junction for the first time.

During a recent visit to the camp, Morton and his family spent time with staff and campers, including 16-year old Brian Walker, a LAMB OF GOD fan, music lover and Victory Junction camper.  “Victory Junction is amazing,” explained Morton.  “One of the highlights for me was getting to hang out with Brian.  Hearing first-hand about how special this camp is to these kids and learning about all the liberating experiences they pack into a week made me that much more thrilled about our auction.  Not only will the winning bidder get a beautiful instrument, they will also receive the joy of knowing that their generosity gave a special child, like my buddy Brian, a week at camp that they will surely never forget!”

The auction will begin on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, and last for 10 days ending on Saturday, October 1st.  To participate in the auction visit:

Victory Junction is a year-round camping environment for children ages six to 16 with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses.  Founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam, the camp is located in Randleman, NC, with a second location opening soon in Kansas City, KS.  Victory Junction offers programs for a range of disease groups and maintains strong relationships with more than 30 partner hospitals. Victory Junction's mission is to provide life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment.   As a non-profit organization, the camp operates solely through the support of generous individuals, groups and corporations to provide this experience at no charge to children and their families.  For more information or to donate, visit

The album is also now streaming in its entirety on Spinner: and at

“Loud and personal,” is one of the ways that lead singer/guitarist Nathan Hussey describes All Get Out.  One might add the term road tested, lest anyone think they haven’t earned the buzz that’s been building around their band. "We sound like we've been on tour for three years. We've been smoking and driving, and we don't smell too good,” adds Hussey.

Just as All Get Out accidentally ended up spending the formidable part of their ‘20s counting mile markers, so did The Season unintentionally transform itself into a pop record when the band began tracking with producer Matt Malpass (Lydia, Copeland). Still visceral and soul-bearing as ever, The Season stretches All Get Out into the frequencies beyond reactionary abrasions.

Consisting of newer songs as well as some that were written as far back as 2007, the new album is “a book on the history of our band,” explains Hussey. “While touring is fun and a dream, there were times where all of us wanted a wall to punch and cry and wished we were home, or had a home.” Writing in the moment, truly unfiltered, each track displays specific moments of disarray the band found themselves in: broken friendships, fights, and empty wallets. In the end The Season is about moving past it all so you can keep on driving.

Which is exactly what the guys intend to do. All Get Out will be back out on the road starting this week with Favorite Gentlemen label mates A: The Color and Junior Astronomers, after which they will launch select dates with Now Now (No Sleep Records) and Lydia.
