Secondhand Serenade

Saturday the 4th saw the return of Secondhand Serenade to the House of Blues Anaheim. Always excellent live, the set was a carefully constructed mix of the old and the new. Like Chris Carraba of Dashboard Confessional, John Vesely walks a careful line between his acoustic, stripped down early work, and full band, more commercial work. His latest release Hear Me Now, featuring the hit single "Something More" definitely leans more on the full band, big production values style necessary to  break through to a wider audience, but it's great to see he still gives the nod to his acoustic roots and the fans that have helped get him this far.
