Favorite Albums of 2009 Vol 1
Am I the only one that reads all of the "Best of" lists at the end of each year and am fascinated by how hard people have worked to load them full of some of the most obscure discs they could possibly find in order to somehow make themselves look cool? As I finish the final cuts on my own list, to be published very soon, I can assure you that, as in years past, I am not going for the intentionally obscure. Instead, I am going for records I personally liked alot and felt contributed something great to the musical landscape of the year. The picture included is a clue to one album that will be on the list.

Do you know what time it is?....11:11AM
Anyone who knows me probably knows I have 11:11AM tattooed on the inside of my wrist. I did this in honor of Andrew McMahon's brave battle with leukemia, and one of the charities that sprang up to join the leukemia fight in his honor which is called 11:11AM. As a matter of fact, if you go check out the myspace for the charity at http://www.myspace.com/1111am you will see a picture of my tattoo on the main page on their About Me section. 11:11AM now has a new partnership with Snakes & Suits for an 11:11AM shirt, a portion of the proceeds of which go to support the charity. You can click the title of this post to be connected to the Snakes and Suits page where you can order this shirt. It's a worthy cause and a great shirt....PLEASE SUPPORT.

Who let the dogs out?????
I need to vary from our music theme for just a moment. I desperately need to find a new home (in Southern California) for my two dogs. My old house is in escrow, and I cannot take them to my apartment as they don't allow big dogs. They are both female, both fixed, and extremely lovable. The brown one is the mom, the black one her daughter. They are both boxer mix. They must have a new home in the next 30 days and I really don't want to have to resort to a shelter. If anyone is interested please either respond by posting a comment, email me at makeshiftmedia@live.com, or on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/rockstargallery7 .

It's not quite New Years Day....yet
Randomly listening to an old Myspace Records cd from 2005, I was reminded of the fact that I hadn't heard anything out of New Years Day in a really long time. I knew they'd been having alot of label troubles but beyond that I'd gotten busy and forgotten about them for awhile. Relistening to Ready Aim Misfire for the first time in awhile reminded me just how much I loved this band, so I hit up their myspace and found the update they posted in August.I've dropped them a line to see if there are further updates cause I'd really love to see Ashley back on stage sometime soon. As soon as I hear anything I will post updates, but in the meantime please head over to their myspace and check them out.
