LONG LOST TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM IN AUGUST

LONG LOST TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM IN AUGUST

May 23, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Indie/Alternative-pop band Long Lost has announced plans to release their debut full-length album, Save Yourself, Start Again, on August 6th via No Sleep Records.  The band, which is fronted by vocalist Joe Boynton of beloved indie/pop punk band Transit, has premiered the first new track, “Want,” from the album today atAltPress.com.  Fans are invited to pre-order the new album from No Sleep now at https://store.nosleeprecords.com/product/6645.

Listen to “Want” now at AltPress.com: http://altpress.com/features/entry/song_premiere_long_lost_want

What began as an acoustic side project between the Transit vocalist Joe Boynton and guitarist Vinny Comeau in 2010 between touring has lead to a full-time band over the course of the last year.  The duo signed with No Sleep Records in late 2012 and entered the studio with co-producer Gary Cioffi, Jr. (Transit, Misser) in early 2013 to record their first full-length with drummer Aviv Marotz, guitarist Mat Morin and Bassist Mike Moschetto in tow.

Once in the studio Comeau departed the band, leaving the rest of the guys primary reign over the songwriting and direction of the new material, resulting in a bright and airy collection of ten beautiful indie-pop tunes that exhibit a range of styles and moods, from upbeat power-pop to solemn folk, which any fans of bands like Death Cab For Cutie, Circa Survive, Maps & Atlases and Rilo Kiley will undoubtedly adore.

“It's been a long time coming and I can't wait to share these songs with everyone,” says Boynton.

“We entered the studio with just some simple acoustic tunes, but left with a record that's bigger, better and more varied than we'd imagined,” adds Moschetto.

Long Lost has premiered the first new song, “Want,” their second officially released song to date, from their upcoming album today.  The song is a simple, heartfelt ballad that starts with Boynton’s inimitable vocals backed by an acoustic guitar and abounds with catchy verses and a memorable chorus that will surely be a fan favorite.

"It's hard to pick favorites from the record, but in trying to make a first impression, I think we all had 'Want' in mind,” says Moschetto.  “I think we're all in top form on this one."

SENSES FAIL ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN TOUR DATES

(May 23, 2013) – Today SENSES FAIL announces five new tour dates in Australia this summer. Beginning August 7th in Brisbane, Senses Fail will be performing in support of their latest full-length, RENACER which was released on 3/29/13 on 3Wise Records in Australia (3/26/13 on Staple Records in the US).  Tickets go on sale May 21, 2013 at all ticket locations.

We love Australia,” said singer Buddy Nielsen, “and we are extremely excited to make it back to the country. This will be our third trip down and we consider it to be our favorite international destination. It's always a pleasure and this time should be no different.”

Renacer boasts a significantly heavier and more musically adventurous sound than past releases and is a reflection of the band in 2013, in terms of both creative interests and current personnel.  The album features the song “Mi Amor” that has polarized fans for Nielsen’s use of Spanish lyrics in the song.

Renacer has been universally lauded by the media including praise from Kerrang!, who declared, “This is how you do post-hardcore in 2013,” and Outburn Magazine added, “Renacer is about as perfect as the come.”  Rock Sound says Senses Fail “return(s) with one of the more dramatic and genuine rebirths you’re likely to encounter for some time. Renacer will put your jaw on the ground within seconds of pressing play.”

Senses Fail formed in Ridgewood, New Jersey over 10 years ago and has sold over 1.2 million records worldwide.  The band’s previous studio album, The Fire, was released in 2010. A greatest hits album, Follow Your Bliss: The Best of Senses Fail, was released last year.

DRUG THE KIDS TO PLAY THE VIPER ROOM WITH EL VEZ FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW ON MAY 23

DRUG THE KIDS TO PLAY THE VIPER ROOM WITH

EL VEZ FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW ON MAY 23

CURRENTLY IN THE STUDIO WORKING ON SONGS FOR THEIR DEBUT ALBUM

After playing in a few local bands together, Seth Reger and Ivan Arellano decided to leave the scene in Jacksonville, FL and go west to see what Southern California might have to offer them so they headed to Los Angeles hoping for better opportunities for their musical endeavors.   Joel Driscoll, a childhood friend of Seth’s had been living in Orange County for a couple of years already so the three hooked up and started playing together, still in search of a drummer, the one missing piece to complete their band they were randomly introduced to Zach Wood in 2012 and upon hearing him play knew their line-up was complete and Drug The Kids were born.

“Music has always been the driving force in all of us, it constantly improves our lives, gets us through the tough times, we have never needed anything else, it is our perfect drug,” explains singer Seth Reger on the meaning behind the band’s name.

Here songs from their forthcoming album here: http://www.reverbnation.com/drugthekids

Drug the Kids is- Seth Reger (vocals), Ivan Arellano (guitar), Joel Driscoll (bass) and Zach Wood (drums).

The band started writing songs and playing a few local shows and caught the attention of the folks at Azoff, Geary, Paul Management, (A division of Frontline Mgmt Group) who immediately opened some doors and gave them the opportunity to team up with producers Mike Plotnikoff (Halestorm, All American Rejects), Peter Stengaard (JC Chavez, The Pussycat Dolls, Ashanti) and Dan Estrin (Hoobastank).

Drug the Kids is currently working on their debut album and listeners may be surprised to hear these songs and lyrics coming from a band of  twenty-something’s, but these band members  have packed a lot of living into their years and it’s all reflected in the music.

Weenie Roast 2013: The Highs, The Lows, and The What the Hell Were They Thinking?

Some years the surprise guest at Weenie Roast steals the show, as evidenced by the 2011 appearance of      Foo Fighters who were so amazing you probably can't even remember who else played that year. This year, however, will go down as the one that had people shaking their heads in disbelief. Not because Chester Bennington appeared as the replacement for Scott Weiland, fronting STP, but rather because he performed most of the set in an strangely deep register that came off as an odd attempt to sound like Scott. This seemed shockingly unnecessary from one of the great voices in rock today. Whether this was actually an attempt to sound like Scott or just an attempt to differentiate from his Linkin Park sound, it just fell flat.

This year, stealing the show honors would have to come down to a tie between New Politics and Imagine Dragons. New Politics played second, on the side-stage but performed with a vibrancy that would not have seemed out of place on the main stage (where these boys will likely end up by next year). Originally hailing from Denmark, New Politics have made New York home for the last three years as they've chased the ever-elusive stateside fame. With their album due to drop on Tuesday we've only just begun to appreciate the fun this band has to offer. If you haven't had the chance to seem them live yet, do it. Do it now.

Imagine Dragons performed a similarly show stealing set, despite frontman Dan Reynolds broken hand. Having already stolen out hearts with one of the best live shows of last year, Imagine Dragons brought their percussion-centric set hard to the crowd in Irvine early in the show, but performed like the headliners they are destined to be, outshining later performing bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, who just came off as pompous and overblown, wrapped in their own self-importance.

Props to KROQ for yet again fielding an intriguing mix of bands. Hopefully everyone found somebody new to fall in love with.

INDIE-PUNK BAND ELWAY TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN JUNE

May 14, 2013 – Los Angeles, CA – Fort Collins’ indie-punk band Elway has announced today plans to release their sophomore album, Leavetaking, digitally on June 25 and on physical CD on July 2nd via Red Scare.  The band has revealed the artwork, track list and title today.

Counting bands like The Menzingers, Dead To Me, The Lawrence Arms, etc. as their sonic contemporaries, Elway brings something uniquely their own to the recipe: a slight Rocky Mountain twang and heartsick lyrics that involve camaraderie, debauchery, triumph and existential antitheism. Just imagine if Sylvia Plath and Richard Dawkins got trashed one night on Schlitz and started a punk band. That's Elway for ya, and their new full length,Leavetaking, will be the next great punk album on Red Scare.

After signing to Red Scare in 2011, the band released their debut album Delusions and changed their name from 10-4 Eleanor to Elway, which briefly got them in hot water with the famed, former Broncos’ quarterback of the same name.  The guys spent the next year touring and playing shows with the likes of NOFX, Teenage Bottlerocket, Cobra Skulls and The Dopamines among others.

With a solid fanbase in tow, Elway headed to Chicago’s Atlas Studios (Alkaline Trio, Smoking Popes, The Lawrence Arms) to record their follow-up album, Leavetaking.  After a few weeks of recording the band with emerged with their best material to date.

The Rocky Mountains haven't given the world much in the name of punk rock, but all that is about to change with these new songs, and the band is expected to tour heavily in support of the new LP, including a co-headlining run with labelmates Masked Intruder on the Red Scare Across America Tour followed by a European headlining tour.

Follow the band now at https://www.facebook.com/ElwayTheBand for additional news and updates about Leavetaking.
